Virtual Experiences

Virtual Nature

Virtual reality offers the opportunity to explore many different environments, without travel. Nature, in particular, is often difficult to model, as realistic environments often require complex models, and these can impact performance negatively. My current work focuses on developing realistic-looking nature environments for use in VR.

Virtual Interaction

Good, seamless interaction in virtual reality is often difficult to implement. Most often, a discrepancy between real-life and virtual motion causes loss of immersion. Some controllers, such as the Valve Index Controller, allow for individual finger tracking. The project below was developed in a group using the HTC Vive Controller and SteamVR asset pack. My focus was on object interaction. It is an interactive experience, where the user can build a light sword.
